Eyelash Extension Q & A

Does It Hurt to Get Lash Extensions?

Working around the eyelids can be nerve-racking. However, having lash extensions done does not cause pain. The process simply involves applying lashes with a specialized glue. Our professional technicians will do their best to ensure your comfort throughout the process. In addition, your eyes will be closed the entire time. The application of the lashes may feel like your eyelashes are being tugged. Some clients have been known to fall asleep during the procedure.

The time required to get the eyelash extensions done varies. There are several factors that influence the length of the procedure, including how voluminous you want the lash extensions to be, whether the entire lash line will be filled as well as if you need other treatments in addition to having the extensions done.

How long does it take to have the eyelash extensions done?
How long should I wait until I can get my eyelash extensions wet?

We recommend waiting for at least 48 hours before getting your lash extensions wet. You should avoid exposing the lashes to heat or moisture for this period. Oil-based makeup should be avoided.

How long will my eyelash extensions last?

Eyelash extensions typically last for 2 to 3 weeks without requiring maintenance. If you want to make your extensions last for longer, you will need to visit the Love My Lashes Studio for a follow-up appointment. This is because your natural lashes will begin to shed. They will shed along with the lashes that are glued onto them. You can book a refill for 2 to 3 weeks after your initial appointment.

Is there a difference between full lash extensions and refills/touch-ups?

Full sets are applied to every natural eyelash. This results in a more voluminous and fuller look. Refills are applied during follow-up appointments. They are used to fill in gaps that may have occurred as a result of the natural shedding of your eyelashes.
